Not sure if this is a stupid question, Im new to this world of purchasing so please excuse me, Im looking to buy my first Red / Real Camera ever. Ive used and shared a Epic X for a few years now and i am looking to get my own set up so I can travel with it and shoot my own things. Now that ive saved up a decent amount of cash. Alot of my friends think i should rent but in my case I work as a professional stuntman and when Im on set or on location they some times permit us to film and document what we do. So me trying to find a camera to rent In different citys and areas not to mention making my own films will just be to hard. So im ready to take the leap of faith and buy a red.
That being said! Since I plan on shooting action and car stuff I am Interested in the Epic Dragon Carbon fiber, or Epic Dragon. I went to Nab and got to play with the weapon was awesome and frankly I just figured it would be so crazy expensive I would not be able to afford it, And dont get me wrong it is alot of money. But what im confused on is on the weapon CF woven the deposit is 10k and will be added to the total of 49,500.00 when paid for? And yes i know it doesn't come with Side SSD and Mount. But Comparing to the Carbon Fiber Dragon, Im looking at 50k for brain, mount and ssd and i realize there is a price difference non the less. But for a guy like me just getting into the game, It seems like if I am already investing so much i should go the extra bit, and save up a bit more and buy the woven weapon? Is it just me or are we talking about a 5k difference?
That being said, My question is should we be speculating there will be a price drop on the carbon fiber dragon in the near future after orders have been shipped? Im nervous to purchase this and then there be a price reduction in the dragon, Reason obviously being is i would prefer to put the extra cash into accessories. I remember a while ago when prices dropped on scarlet and epic i believe after the dragon came out, But I could be wrong.
Im also interested in seeing the price point of the Magnesium Weapon, but i know thats something many are wondering. Reason why I ask this instead of waiting is due to I am trying to make a purchase before of the year for Tax purposes of course.
Any comments or advice is very much appreciated. Thanks for your time
