Going to buy the Paralinx. Some questions here:

1. I have a Dtap out from my V-mounted battery on the Red. Is that good for powering the Transmitter? How about cables and such? (Some people on some forums talked about a 5V problem or so).

2. What do I need for power on the reciever end? Does the reciever take batteries or what?

3. I've seen some nice handheld monitor configurations. Does anyone know a complete kit for something like this? I would like to buy it all at once, and not experiement too much.

Hi Thomas
I power the Arrow transmitter from Dtap on my Viewfactor Anton Bauer battery plate using theViewfactor PTAP-USB adapter.

This outputs 5V 1Amp which is exactly what the transmitter requires. The Receiver i understand prefers 2 Amps.
Then use a Micro USB to mini USB cable, which when inserted into the (highly recommended) Paralinx Shield is slightly protected from bumps etc.

Works perfectly with minimal cable fuss. For even better range its suggested the Arrow be mounted on an arm away from some of the RF the Epic emits. havent tested this personally
as day to day range from this setup as is is fine for me.

Cheers
jason

Dan will personally take great care of you, answer all of your questions and help you work all of the setup issues you run into. He is the MAN and runs his business with lots of love and care. and knowing him he will probably answer your questions very shortly right here

Thanks Jason and Chad!

we include a P-tap to 5V USB regulator with every transmitter we sell - this steps your higher voltage down to safe 5V at 2.1 amps. You could also charge an iPhone, iPad or droid with it in the field.

you could use this same regulator (or buy an additional one to go into a Ptap port on your receiver side battery.

we include a USB to right angle barrel for the receiver with every set.

another cool thing you could do for an ultra light setup is the sweet mophie 4000mah 2.1 amp battery.

will post a link to said battery soon.

this will run either side for a decent amount of time.

for handles - right now we are using a set of redrock micro handles with carbon fiber rods to hold two monitors and two receivers.

my favorite piece of kit in there besides our arrow and SmallHd monitors is the 1/4-20 quick release 15mm spud piece. Love those things.

be on the lookout for some exciting things at NAB (not product things. Something else - so don't worry about buying now)

if you have any further questions about the product or purchasing it please feel free to shoot me an email:

Thanx everyone, for making this much clearer now. :)

I just use the Cable's that come with it. I bought some 1' hdmi cables from mono price and I'm good to go.

Hi,

Questions:
How do you install the parallix shield to the top plate´s camera (just by looking at the pic i think that´s what´s happening) and also how can I power the transmitter using the XL Module. Which cable should I use?

Thanks
