Just got my quad bettery module and I am having a hard time seeing why so many people are selling them off at such a low price. While I am happy I got one for amazingly cheap, I real dig it and wonder why more people aren't keeping them.

If the RED volts gave 1 hour each of battery life then I would see it being useful. But you just can't beat the power of bricks. The best thing I see for the Quad Battery Module is that it makes the camera feel like a real camera again when it comes to size.

I love mine too, I think the reason why most people are getting rid of them is they are already too invested in other power solutions such as red bricks that using red volts doesn't really make much sense to them. I find it to be really convenient and I'm sure I'm going to love it so much more after they release power management firmware.

You're right; I love mine, too. And with RV XLs at 90 w/h, I can shoot well over an hour on each one. With the Quad charger, hot swapping makes my shooting time "infinite." :-)

+1. Absolutely.

The only thing that I hate about it is that there is no dtap but we will get power out with the new +1 module adapter.

I agree, Dtap would have been really nice. seems pretty obvious... hmm...

Mine will be for sale as soon as it arrives.
IMO Redvolts are very poor, [don't last long, take a long time to charge, can only charge one at a time, then have to change battery on charger, etc] and only make sense as temporary option in S/H.
Red bricks are much better choice, but I can choose to run them from floor, like battery block for film cameras.
Also quad module loaded with batteries gives Epic same form factor as R1.
Anyone who disagrees - make me an offer!

The problem is cost per watthour; 160Wh/~2.5hour GMPs are ~$300... 89Wh/~1.5hour RV XLs are $350... not cool. Plus when you start using that many RVs you essentially need the QuadCharger, which is another $600. Worse still is that the Quad module + adapter module retail for $1950+300... That's equivalent to so many regular/industry standard batteries (v-mount, AB, etc.) that it's kind of crazy that anyone would invest in an RV system.

So, yeah, for $500-800 (with module adapter) it's cool to test out, but at retail it isn't really financially responsible.

great for owner operators but not for rental. No D-Tap is a deal breaker. Volts are great in the side handle for a super lightweight setup, I have 12 which lasts a day. Clients want bricks on the back.
