The quad battery charger we have is not charging the REDVOLTS XL or REDVOLTS.

When we put the battery in for charge. The charge indicator flashes only "AMBER"???

And not charging.

this happened to me once. i moved to a different outlet and that solved the problem. for me anyways.

hmmmm, move to an outlet on a different circuit. I tried really basic stuff to troubleshoot and it luckily worked. if you find a solution let me know.

I tried other outlets, right now, I see RED and GREEN lights flashing :(

I have the same problem, red and green lights flashing, and no charging, but the box heats up. Sometimes it works if I manually charge one at a time... not sure why it happens or what the pattern is...

I had same issues in the past. Trying several things eventually fixed it.

1. If batteries are fresh off camera and are very hot, they won't charge (it'll flash red/green). Just wait till they cool down and it'll charge.
2. If a nice cool battery doesn't charge, try power cycling it. or just pop battery in and out a few times, or swapping slots.

Sometimes the thing acts stupid and just re-seeding the power or batteries typically fixes it.. Though my quad charger did die on my completely about 2 weeks ago. I had to send it back to Red for repairs.

Did all of the above. I even put my REDVOLTs in them, same issue. However, the travel charger was charging them just fine.

May I suggest filing a ticket directly with RED support, rather than just hoping they read this thread?

I agree with Terry. Come to RedUser to bounce ideas off other people and see if there is a simple fix but if you actually need RED's help the best way is to contact them directly instead of hoping they read the thread... if they did read the thread they'd tell you to file a ticket anyway.

Although mine was unstable a few times too... acting funny.. but all is good now.

I don't see a point of filing a ticket for an issue that's ultimately a design fault.
A LOT of people have this problem.
My thumbs are sore from popping the Redvolt XL's from the user unfriendly quad battery module all day. The battery is incredibly hard to release.
Then at the end of the day, one or two batteries always refuse to charge - red/green light flashing no matter what I do.
These are brand new batteries and quad charger as well as the quad module.
I'm shooting again tomorrow, what am I supposed to do, file a ticket tonight and tell the client that I need to rent another battery system because my brand new batteries are faulty?

This is getting really tiring. I came here hoping there's a simple solution for this problem. It turns out that people had the same issues for two years and the same faulty system is still being sold and nothing is done about it.
