QTAKE is being used around the world on major studio features and is hands-down the most sophisticated, feature rich video assist system available offering 3D monitoring, playback and editing & realtime compositing.

The new NET LINK feature allows one QTAKE system to control 7 more systems in a master-slave config. - facilitating video assist of up to 16 cameras. A studio 3D feature is shooting in New Zealand right now using this to monitor, capture and playback three 3D rigs (6 cameras).

QTAKE is also the first software application to take advantage of RED's valid frame flags and clip name meta-data embedded over the SDI Preview output of the RED ONE, enabling QTAKE to start and stop recording automatically when the camera(s) roll - and capture frame accurate recordings with the 59.94 pulldown removed from the SDI Preview Output. It will record RAMPS and SLOW MOTION up to 60fps and captures the full R3D clipname over SDI.

QTAKE uses a single KONA 3 card to capture two streams of HD. There is also an AJA IO Express version and an AJA IO HD version available for the single camera - laptop use.

I worked on a set with Q-take last week ( LA wit hthe F-35), and I have to say it's the best damn VTR setup I have ever seen. It was flawless, and the operator just gave me the Qt Prores files it captures and I cut a way and had a rough cut of the spot by the end of the day.

NEW FEATURES:
- Improved handling of signal loss in dual card configurations.
- Added 3D (L) and 3D (R) output modes to preview single camera on a 3D monitor (long click V-OUT when in 3D mode).
- Extended SHOT entry to 5 characters.
- Some data entries have upper right dot to indicate possibility of value RESET by long-click.

Multiple IN and OUT points
1. In REC mode, after setting first IN-OUT, pressing new IN will store previous IN-OUT.
2. In DISK mode, navigate through IN-OUT selections using <MARK, MARK>.
3. During playback, MARK button will move playhead to another selection if it is close to IN point.
4. Short click RESET to delete current selection, long click RESET to delete all selections.
5. PLAY ONE and PLAY ALL toggle by long-clicking PLAY or REVERSE button.

This feature has to be enabled by modifying Qtake_Prefs.txt:

MUXER module (side-by-side recording, single or dual Kona3 only) - enables recording of two 3D rigs using one MacPro!
1. Feed L camera to SDI1 In, R camera to SDI2 In for each Kona3.
2. Select Kona SDI Muxed SBS video input in PROJECT Window.
3. Set V-OUT to VIEW1, V-OUT2 to VIEW2.
4. Output Side-by-Side or REMUX to Line-by-Line.
5. DEMUX to Left only or Right only.
6. 3D (L) and 3D (R) output modes to preview single camera on a 3D monitor.
7. BW ANAGLYPH preview in GUI.
8. MUXER can be applied to S1 and S2 modes of QUAD SPLIT.
9. Independent AXIAL (Convergence) settings for each 3D rig.

Only left camera can be Flipped or Flopped currently.
Works only in 8bit capture mode using current 8-core MacPro (needs more CPU power for muxing 4x 10bit HD signals).
MUXER module will NOT be included in FULL HDx2.
