I wonder whether this is something I should do something about?:
I export prores qt movies, 2k 2:1, from redcine. When I import that into fcp 6.0.5 I get a warning that the qt file is not optimized for fcp. When I continue everything seems to be working fine but maybe there is something I don't see. I assume that it is because 2:1 is not a format native to qt, but are there any real consequences? Any opinions are very much appreciated.
Hans

Is your FCP up to date? 2K works fine for me.

Isn't 6.0.5 the latest? And it does seem to be working fine, except for the fact that fcp warns me that the file is not optimized for fcp and I should do something about it for optimal performance. But I'm not sure what I'm missing out on.

Strange, I checked and it actually is 6.0.5, but it works for me without that message.
Which codec are you using?

I get that message as well out of Redcine when I've used it. The files go in as Redmag.mov. I haven't messed too much with it, mostly I use L & T because it seems to work about twice as fast.

Do you get that message if you transcode with RA?

Looks like another bug in RC…

I've had a similar message when I made a sequence from the reimported graded TIFF files, exported that sequence and reimported it into another Mac - with the same version of FCP. Go figure... Could it be a interlaced/non-interlaced thing?
