Now that my camera is nearly ready to ship I decided to really get into REDCINE. Unfortunately all I'm getting is the stuck frame or black. I've already updated to the latest QT and no way of really going back (at least I think). When is this issue going to get resolved?

Also want to know if I were to purchase a new tower (with 10.5 preinstalled), does it come with the latest QT or can I install 7.3 if need be?

I'm still on QT 7.3 and I always get a freeze frame movie (first frame) when exporting to QuickTime. Funny thing is that I see all the right frames on screen during export!

RED guys, please! This cannot be a biggie to fix. I know what I'm talking about as I'm a software developer myself. Compressing and adding frames from a frame buffer to a QuickTime movie is about 5 lines of code. There's not much magic about it when you do it right. Please tell me if I can be of any help.

One thing I've noticed is that while yes, you'll be seeing all the right frames on screen during export, whenever it's rendering out a 'freeze frame', RedCine renders noticeably faster than regular. I've had massive issues trying to render out bulk files which has basically eliminated the idea of rendering a days worth of footage out overnight. This is a huge problem.

What I've found works for the interim is doing a few shots at a time, always of the same format, never mixing 4k, 3k and 2k together. If I get a freeze frame, I trash the prefs and reinstall Redcine. This absolutely sucks and is an unbelievable waste of time but at least I'm able to slowly but surely convert the needed files to 1080p ProResHQ.

7.4.1 & Sorenson codec

7.4.1 & Sorenson codec

Don't know if this has been posted already?
We've been testing 7.4.1 (both platforms) and just found that under the preferences settings that "Enable encoding using legacy codecs" is turned OFF. This has stopped other programs like After Effects exporting Sorenson qt's.
Ticking the box seems to enable Sorenson, and thats fixed the problem I had with trying to export a Sorenson 3 QT from Redcine.

On my system, SOMETIMES it renders out really fast on the freeze frame portion. Other times, it appears to be rendering each frame just like all the others (ie., slowly) and I will still get a freeze frame. I only get the freeze frame when I try to load more than 2 r3d files into RedCine and export them all together. I haven't yet tried one very long r3d file.

I've got about 100 CF cards I've got to get through as of today with conversion and I'm stuck doing that; one or two shots at a time. So far today I've gotten through three cards... Thankfully I've got two machines so I can do some editing work on one and let the other render. I've got my credit card ready to purchase Crimson or whatever app out there which fixes this.
