Hello,

Had a quick question regarding the REDBRICK's ability to work with other v-mount backings / base plates.

Do REDBRICKS only specifically work with only baseplates offered on RED's Site?
Will REDBRICKS work with QB Switronix V-Mount? Or other V-Mounts?

Anybody who has this setup or can clarify if this does indeed work or not work would be great, thanks!

Great Thank you!

Would I also need to purchase this from RED:
2B-TO-1B POWER ADAPTOR CABLE
?

My Switronix QB plate does not provide a positive lock on my GMP batteries. It is quite easy to simply pull the battery right off the plate without pushing the release button. The release catch is a very smooth rounded piece of metal (of some kind), and only spring tension keeps it extended. So when upward force is applied to the battery (the GMP in this case), off the battery goes. In general it is not an issue, though in rough hand held or unpredictable circumstances, it could be a problem. No idea if the Red V mounts would do the same, but I suspect they would. I believe it is a design issue with the Switronix plate.

^^ I have the same problem with GMP batteries coming off my switronix plate. I know it's not the batteries as they are rock solid on monitors, chargers, etc.

We may be able to adjust the tension on the spring so that it makes a more positive lock on the batteries. We put the plates through a variety of tests prior to shipment, with a RED brick and our battery products. Their are so many different brands out there nowadays, it's difficult to insure all the v-clips work the same. I presume their may be others with GMP battery users that are having the same experience, but honestly, you two are the first I've heard. Please email me.

If you purchase the GP-S-EPIC, you do not need a 2b to 1b cable.....the plates comes with a 1b Lemo end.

Great Thank you!

That's odd. Both our Swit Plates locks in fine with the GMPs.

Yes! Red Bricks, Switronix Bricks and IDX Bricks are all compatible with WC's plates.

Marq Lee

(Let's just say, the WC crew aren't big fans of GMPs:-O)

I'd say it's the plate as my GMP batteries firmly lock into EVERY other V-mount plate I've attached them to, including monitors, chargers, other cameras.
Did you get the email I sent you yesterday?
