I wanted to check with you guys if there are any special ways to get the best still images of video shot with the RED. Hopefully there isn`t allready a thread running on this topic, if there is I didn`t find it. Right now I am shooting at 4.5K resolution and at a minimum of 1/250 shutter, and am pulling the frames with RedAlert. The model is moving fairly slow and I am shooting 23.98.
My client heard rumors that there is a special process one has to follow, and now wants me to keep checking on it.
Thanks for any information.

Shooting at 1/250 will produce very clean still captures. One class assignment during REDucation #5 was to produce stills, and students tried tried shutter speeds from 1/48, all the way to 1/250. At 1/250 you can pull a clean action still (like a man jumping off a 3 foot height).

But is there a special software way to pull the frames of the footage also, or do you just export dpx frames out of RedAlert all full res ?
