Flying my Scarlet on a Ronin and was wondering if it's a problem to plug in/unplug the Red Pro monitor while the camera is on. I don't have a sidehandle so I need the monitor to control the camera but I'd like to be able to take it off and just use the external monitor attached to the handles while i'm shooting.

I'm not sure if its an issue i did it too. But nowadays I myself and a lot of people I know just mount it on the camera top and lay it flat. Shouldn't be a problem if you're using the standard ronin.

Did you try foolcontrol?

Well there have been times where my lcd glitches after I've powered up and I pull the cable and replug and haven't had problems...

On your old camera? Or your new one?

covering the fans doesn't overheat the camera? Also does the excess heat bother the LCD screen?

They are designed to hot swap, so its okay. I've done it on all my reds since the R1.
