  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Puerto Rico Gangster Flick - 'El Muerto'

Lookin really nice! Can't wait to see the teaser.

Those locations are great. I live in an urban area and long for expansive lands and rolling mountains to shoot but something like where you shot is like gold also.

Freaking great - hope to see some footage asap, so I can dream a lil' more about the Red One (my pockets cannot afford it sadly).

I know the frame grabs were done quickly, but I wonder if you added any sharpen? They feel a bit soft, but I know that Red doesn't add any sharpen in the file. I've heard that a very small amount of sharpen can help a lot.

No criticism meant, it's just something I see in most of the Red footage.

Cheers,
Chris

Chris, I opened the R3D in Redcine, crushed the blacks just a little, boosted the saturation to 1.5, medium sharpening upon output, saved as a 4k TIFF, brought it into PS, exported for the web, medium quality jpeg compression..

The 4k footage looks sharp as a tack..I wanted to hijack these lenses back to LA, they were that nice..

Yea, we rented the lenses from PJ's right outside San Juan. For G&E, all we had was an ARRI softbank light kit for backup & 2 reflector boards. Didn't even touch the kit but we did put those reflectors to use.
