A PSA for Coalition for the Homeless.

Director: Leo Zanis
DP: Chase Bowman
Specs: 4K 2:1, Older Zeiss Superspeeds (Bayonet mount with PL adapter)

Originally we were going to shoot Nikons, but these Zeiss lenses were used instead. There were a lot of shots thrown out of focus intentionally for creative purposes. In terms of color, I've played around a little to see what styles I could come up with, but they are not intended to match, nor are they the director's or DP's corrections. Just me messing around.

I provided the camera and support gear and acted as a consultant/Tech.

Beautiful...

Homeless supermodels? What is the world coming to? :-)

Seriously...great looking stuff.

Nice.
Steve,
Check philip blooms short on the same from England.

As an generous philanthropist and sincere do-gooder with a big heart, I have a home for her.

Hehe...

Nice work. But a girl like that, dressed like that, wouldn't be digging through the trash unless she enjoyed it or happened to drop a diamond earring or something. And she could end her homelessness in about 5 minutes at any local bar. ;)

but a girl like that can end up homeless, in fact it happens to people across class borders and is just a very sad topic. The PSA is of course not intended to be literal. It was interesting to see peoples reactions as they stopped and watched filming. Seeing the girl get out of the cardboard box was surreal.

I know, just teasin' a bit. Actually, a girl like that in the PSA is a great choice. Catches people's attention and does illustrate that becoming homeless can and does happen to anyone, even if the talent used does imply a certain degree of exaggeration. ...Her climbing out of a cardboard box (in that alley?) would be a little surreal. And her digging through the trash is a nice touch... I see her coming up with a half-eaten doughnut and dusting it off. Classy. There I go, I'm poking fun again. Can't help it.

With the spiral the American economy is in we may find the typical middle class family living in a freezer box.

Ain't that the truth. This is why I never went into economics. Just too darn hard to make sense of it all.

i was going to mention the same thing yesterday and say no way would you see somebody wearing those spike heels either !! ... then yesterday afternoon i was in downtown Oakland and i saw a woman dressed very nice and in spiked heels walking down a small back street going thru trash cans !!

Can't tell you the number of times I've shot in that alley!
