Proxies in the world of the new plugins

I have several projects that started before the new Log and Transfer plug-in was released, just edited in FCP off of the medium proxies.

Now, I've been trying to figure out how well proxies work with Apple Color, and from the looks of it there is no difference using a L&Ted "native" redraw and a H proxy in germs of detail and access to raw functionality (not that I saw, anyway).

So I thought I would simply reconnect all the M's to the H's in the time line, send to color, and be on my merry way. Ran into a bug: while most clips work fine in Color, one in a few (say 10% chance) have some problems where it seems like Color just picks random bits from many clips and splices them haphazardly into the corrupted one. The result is something like a bad horror movie. It seems like it's a problem of reference.

So, my question is, what's the best way to utilize the new Color plug-in with timelines that are still done the old proxy way? I don't exactly have the disk space to re-conform a terabyte of RedRaw, and the batch-capture method described in the WhitePaper didn't work because the proxies didn't come through log and transfer.

you don't really have to reconnect to H proxies. You can just send the M proxies to Color when you're ready to render simply resize the project to 2k...i think.

Tried that, but to my eyes it looked quite bad - like 1k upsampled to 2k. Could anyone confirm?
