A year ago when I got my first RED camera (#8), the RED Base Production Pack was the only accessory option of its type for RED. It has served me well. Since then 3rd party accessory companies like ET, View Factor, and others have designed some other cool options for RED. It's nice to have a lot of options when it comes to accessories for RED. It expands the camera's utility.

I just prototype test accessories for companies like Element Technica and View Factor. The price and availability are naturally up to them. I would guess that sometime pretty soon ET will publish a timeframe for production and prices for the Shoulder Mount and the other unreleased accessories you see in my pictures on this thread.

Steve,

What is the aluminum plate you are using for mounting your microphone? Is that homemade or another ET item?

Its a mini-cheeseplate about 5" long,, 2" wide, and 1/3" thick that I got from ET a long time ago. I don't know if they are planning to incorporate it in a product or not, but to mount the mini-shotgun mic I needed something light, with holes in it, that would have a lip on the end to keep the mic from traveling off the end of the bracket, so I adapted that mini-cheeseplate to the task. The added benefit is when I need to lean the camera over on its smart side as I'm transporting it - like on a car seat - the mini-cheeseplate sticks out far enough to protect the mic, LEMO connectors, and breakout box from undue pressure on them.
