I did a shoot on Wednesday where I had to protect the Epic from kids and squirt guns and from bursting champagne bottles today. I covered it in plastic in as many essential areas as possible. Rig needed to remain lightweight because I was shooting on glidecam at 300 FPS. It worked out pretty well, I actually walked right through some fairly direct spray and it remained dry. Pic below

On another note, this was my first shoot with the OLPF fix in. It works amazingly well and the flares are so much more desirable now. It was such a flaw before that I feel like I have a brand new camera!

@Peter: Ugly but functionally!!! Why not...

The Ombre rain cover looks good, thanks Nik!

I emailed them and it's only $250! Or $275 with the extension for zooms!

Wow, good price...will order one!
@Chris: Danke für die empfehlung - thanks for the recommendation!

Ha!

I was using the Glidecam HD-4000. The rain cover probably wouldn't work because it looks to be too heavy. I was already pushing the weight limit of the Glidecam.

Yeah that's what I figured. Do you know how much your camera weighed before putting it on the glidecam?

I don't know exactly but I had the Epic-M Body, Wooden Camera Easy Top X, Red Touch LCD and cable, Sidehandle with Redvolt, Ziess Super Speed 8mm (Super 16 lens covers 2K), 128 GB SSD Mag.

If I were to guess how much it weighed, I'd say around 12-13 lbs. I have also run a configuration without the Sidehandle and used a Red Brick at the bottom of the glidecam for counterbalance. I'm still deciding which one I like better. It's smooth as butter though. No need for a bigger steadicam rig unless you have heavier lenses, but it helps to have an experienced operator on the Glidecam. I have been using them for seven years.

Nice. I would be using heavier lenses I think. Sounds pretty awesome though. Red brick as a counterbalance is a really good idea!
