I have a project in FCP 7.0 edited with ProRes transcoded files.
Id like to replace those files with HProxy files and or F Proxy files.

Can anybody tell me exactly how to do that?
Thanks
Luis

You save an XML, put it into Clipfinder and tell it what you want back! Magic!

Sounds great, Ive tried a few times but I know im just not doing it right.
Would you be willing to tell me the steps?

My problem is i get an out of memory error when i try opening the sequence in FCP
i have 16gb of ram so i find it hard to run out of memory.

Thanks
Luis

David's step by step is what I used so they do work. If you are still getting memory errors maybe something else is at play.

The only problems I encountered were with the looping bug, which Clipfinder also has a fix for.

Are you using conform, or actually opening the XML? I only use conform and set up all the parameters.

The 'out of mrmory' error in FCP has nothing to do with RAM or disc space. It usually means you have a corrupted project file. Roll back to a previously autosaved version and try again...

One possible reason for the out-of-memory bug is checking "adjust sequence width..." in Clipfinder's conform settings, but leaving the width and height values at zero.
Try unchecking the option and adjust the sequence width and height manually in FCP.

Good luck,
Hans

This shouldn't give you any issues. What software are you going to be using after running through Clipfinder? If you are using Color, you will be able to view the scaling options within the Geometry room.

I strongly suggest slipping any film into reels of no more than 20 minutes each and restitching them after the render in FCP.

Smaller bits are much more managable than one huge sequence.

REEL 001
REEL 002
REEL 003
REEL 004

And so on .
