I am having an issue ingesting red footage into FCP through the Log and Transfer plugin. It does not give me the option to encode into another resolution like 1080p or 720p. It encodes directly to 2K. However the stuff that was shot in 3K and 4K does not tranfer at all. It remains in the bin with a red sign and an exclamation mark. :angry03:

Can anyone help?

Use RR/RC Log & Transfer will only give you half res of 4k or lower than that full res; for best transcoding options take a look at RC, good first light color grade, slow render speed, but most flexibility over output options.

OK, now I have used RC. I have used it in the past and it has worked fine. Some one had mentioned to me some glitches with 3k.
Now I tried exporting my 3K footage from red cine. After 27 hours of exporting it has created individual clips of the SAME Clip which Does not even PLAYBACK!!!! Even if I scroll through the quicktime clip (in FCP or even in QT) its the same frame throughout the clip in all 115 individual clips!!! This makes no sense whatsoever. Can some one please turn on the RED LIGHT for me?

RC doesn't like that many clips at once, break it down into smaller jobs, usually by reel (if shooting to CF) or reels of 10-20 clips; just another one of those crazy glitches, it can also be caused by rendering to a weird spot (like cross network) which can be ironed out by rendering to the comp's hard disk or internal raid.
