Been reading a lot of the great info y'all have been posting here. So glad to see the creative community coming up with some neat-o ways to configure these cameras! Below is a list of items that I'm ready to order - just wanna make sure that I'm not missing anything, or that something I'm considering is not compatible:

Scarlet-X Al Canon Side SSD (11700)
RED Station 1.8" Mag (250)
(2) 128GB RED Mags (3600)
REDMote (550)
SmallHD DP4 EVF (750)
Wooden Camera V-Mount (320)
Wooden Camera QuickBack (199)
Wooden Camera IDX Back (79)
Wooden Camera Cheese Handle (140)
Wooden Camera A-Box (199)
(2) GMP 190WH Batteries (756)
GMP 2-ch Charger (165)
ViewFactor Shuttle Mount (65)
ViewFactor Stealth Plate (179)
TOTAL ~ 19000ish

I've already got a selection of Canon lenses (Tokina 11-16, Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS, Canon 24-70, and Canon 50mm f/1.4), Zoom H4n, bags, cases, Zacuto Arm, tripod, 15mm rods and baseplate, and shoulder mount. I'm upgrading from an AF100, FYI.

Thanks, Sérgio!

Not sure I really like the 5" Touch. My Epic-owning pals have one and, as a control device, it seems kinda flaky.

I personaly like to use LCDs contrary to many. It allows me for different type of shots in different type of support systems, like steadicams, or jibs. The fact that it is a control interface is a plus! :) Also I think the AC adapter is another must have!

The AC Adaptor is included with the Scarlet-X Al Canon Side SSD kit, no? Definitely gonna need that.

You need the Red Station 1.8" Mag for Redmags not the 2.5".

Your also going to want a WC/VF or RED bottom riser plate and top cheese plate. You need the bottom riser to position and mount your camera the right way with 15mm and 19mm rods. The top cheese plate (VF FMJ, WC EasyTop) is just good.

I've been running around with my scarlet and only the DP4 EVF the last couple days. I've had no problem controlling everything with the side handle. It seems to be a faster, more accurate way to do things.

And using the focus assist and zoom-in assist, getting sharp focus has been easy too. I put the dp4 in monochrome mode, and that seemed to help too.

I still plan on using the 5" touch plenty, but just wanted to to test a lightweight exterior setup. It's totally usable, but I'd recommend getting a 5" touch as well.

Maybe the Side Handle is the route I should go. I'm just not a fan of the 5" Touch. The TVLogic 5.6" looks much crisper, and the touchscreen on the 5" leaves me a little leary. But I like the ability to use the DP4 as an EVF or LCD. Thanks so much for your input so far!

I would also recommend getting more or larger SSD's than that. Depending on what type of shooting you do, you'll chew through those 64gb SSD's quickly. I'd recommend a minimum of two 128gb SSD's for any package. Also in terms of handhold and navigating the menus, the sidehandle is great. If you get a redvolt or two with it you can also hotswap your v-locks.

Hi Ben. Please let me to ask you: As far as being able to pull good focus, do you think the SmallHD dp4 is a good alternative for those of us who don't have the cash for a Bomb EVF? I'm still on the fence about getting a DP4 as my EVF, what do you think, especially now with the latest focus assist update? Thanks in advance
