I am editing on a PC and cannot find a product that fits my needs. My team and I have a decent size project we are budgeting for at the moment and I want to work in a solid storage solution that we can also edit off of. There are quite a few options for large storage RAID setups with fast read speeds to edit our footage but they all seem to be thunderbolt.
I dabbled with a thunderbolt card awhile ago and I found it to be somehow unreliable. I am looking to find a solid storage solution and connect with 10GBe ( or possbily usb 3.1) but all the solutions by qnap, synology and the like have so many different variables when it comes to CPU options, RAM, drive connections etc.
Can anyone suggest a solid option that while house around 35+TB and provide some solid speed to work within our editing workflow. What are examples of what some people are doing here? My other option is to possibly swap out my small ssd raid0 setup i use now with 4 enterprise HDD in raid 0 internally and just keep seperate backups of the raw media.
ANy examples and tips are hugely appreciated!
(we are shooting on a red epic-w so file sizes can be taxing as you all know!
