Hi,

I just redid the color grading for a "proof of concept" fashion film I shot some time ago. The project unfortunately was cancelled, but I would like to know what other people think about the clip i.e. directing, editing, cinematography and color grading. The models are friends of mine who never modelled before, so don't be to harsh on their acting

And if you have some spare minutes, I would love to hear what you think about my website www.deep-white.eu ... I've been working on it for some time and don't see the mistakes any more. So don't hold back with your critique.

Thanks
David

Hi,

It's nice. Lacks a little more storytelling. Would have been nice with the feel of them undressing slowly - drag out the suspense and play on the sensual, erotic part and see them be more seriously when interacting with each other - you can feel they're nervous. Erotic is not anything to be ashamed of LOL. As for your website - From personal preference I would loose the birds - keep it even more simple IMO - also the birds kind of indicates a preference and Im not personally sure that should be indicated. Lastly I read your copy as well - skip seeing it over and over again on..."Youtube" - it's not necessary and you niche yourself to just web films if you write that. Also the same with "some of us" graduated from the most..... Just write and we're graduates from the most.... sounds better and is hardly even a white lie

You can't use heavy color push in a fashion video. Their skin tones are off from this heavy push, their garments are off. Heavy push looks very Magic Bullet-ish and dated.

Some poses/shots are not elegant nor flattering. I would suggest learning more about how to position models to make them look their best.

Whole thing has a doco/hippie feel that does not work at all with lingerie, and would only work for a very limited number of brands (and even then, promotion for these "earthy" brands are done a lot less "freestyle" and with much more deliberation than you might think).

Start reading more fashion magazines (and not just the edgy ones focussed on obscure brands that could never pay you).

Birds on your web site do indeed make me assume you have a very narrow approach.

My words are harsh but fashion business is even harsher.

And... Just because you have a lot to learn does not mean you can't learn it.
