Hey, everyone. The university I work for is putting together a screening room in our new library, and we've asked that it be equipped with a projector that's relatively color accurate and calibrate-able so that our students can check their color grades while finishing their films.
The projector the IT department has currently spec'd out for the space is an Epson L1505 1080p model (laser, 3LCD). I believe the budget is around $20K, with perhaps a little bit of flexibility. Can anyone tell me if there's something else we should ask them to consider?
The screen size will be ~20ft. I don't feel like we need to project 4K, but I do wonder if DCI compliance is something we can realistically consider in our price range.
This isn't in our area of expertise, so any advice is very much appreciated.
