  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Projected rental rates for Epic?

Not sure about this one. The Epic-X is an amazing value, but an S35 Scarlet brain is $7000 vs the Epic-X brain at $28000. That's a huge difference.

epic x 19.5k for stage 2...

I dont thin definitive prices have come out for scarlet yet.. just projected..

the 7k would be for the brain... not including all the modules that would be needed.. I would assume another 7k on top.. so 14k for a S35...
19.5k which includes a fully functional epic seems like a good deal to me..

it depends on your hopeful market though.

trust me.. there will be big difference between the cameras.. or else why would red make epic x so much more expensive, when people will just buy a s35 scarlet..

Aren't you playing games with the pricing here? The only people who get a lot of the accessories "thrown in" with their $28K Epic or get discounted pricing are RED One owners. Nice for them but they have already spent and/or are spending quite a bit of cash to get those "free" accessories and price reductions. In the final analysis, anyone who wants to buy an Epic "cold" has to pay $28K plus whatever accessories they want/need (just like the Scarlet buyer). And the $7K price tag is the last known projection for the s35 Scarlet brain. I do think it is "fair" to make the comparison at $28K vs. $7K (or whatever the final s35 Scarlet gets price at.)

No no no.. I was talking about the deal for epic-x.. epic-x is the deal.. for red one owners.. keep camera pay 19.5 for stage two.. trade in camera pay 10.5 for stage 3...

im saying.. for current red owners.. EPIC-X is a better deal than scarlet.

stage 2 is the best deal, because your keeping your camera vs trading it in at a loss..
not to mention the loss incurred with purchasing the new sensor.

Uh... how does that work? Stage 3 you get full value of your RED ONE - 17.5K. How is that trading it in for a loss?

I'm with Mark.

Epic-X $28,000 for brain - Red One $17,500 = $10,500

Where's the loss?
