Hey everyone. My production company SMALL GIANT was hired this fall to help conceptualize, shoot and co-direct the PROJECT RUNWAY ALLSTARS 2014 promo campaign! It's the follow up to our Heidi Klum Runway Spot this summer.
The edit and VFX were done in-house. Unfortunately, there was no time for a color grade. Though Jake Blackstone and I delivered STUNNING graded dailies, a choice was made in post to work off the original R3Ds, and because the spots had to be rushed to air, a color grade never happened. Though the spots are AMAZING, I can only imagine how great they'd look graded!!
Nevertheless. These spots are PHENOMENAL, and I'm very very proud to showcase them!!
Shot on RED EPICS and SCARLETS. With Contax glass (21 MM on wide, 80-200 on tight), and a Canon FD 35-105 (we were testing this out on Mediums).
Macro work shot on a Canon FD 200mm F4 MACRO.
1/4 Classic Soft on everything, except the wide.
The creative challenge was as follows - with Alyssa Milano unavail due to pregnancy, and the All Stars scattered about, could we pull off a promo campaign by only shooting with the "models of the runway"?
We cast SIX of the actual models from PROJECT RUNWAY ALL STARS, and these spots are the end result!
I hope you enjoy.
Much kudos goes to the Lifetime in-house edit, design and creative team! They are really becoming a force to be reckoned with, and I love working with them.
