I disagree that one will no longer be able to shoot on MX when others have Epics. This is simply not realistic. If you have a great reel and deliver quality each time no one is going to say that they instead want the less competent guy, because he or she has an Epic. An MX has been used to film huge Hollywood stuff - that level of quality will still be just as possible after Epic ships.

I agree with you - when talent wins over. But that doesn't always happen as we all know. Unless you're doing well enough to choose only the good jobs with the good producers.

No postponing, definitely not the right move. Goes back to what someone else said about not planning a production around the gear.
