Hi
I heard a little bird whispering to me of a program that syncs red clips with audio recorded by another source than the red-camera?
Is there something like this out there?
Thanks!

yep. rocketcine-X does it.

the new redcine-x does it now i believe.

and once you have transcoded and are editing, AVID does it, but for final cut, you can use a nice little program called sync n link. we have a video tutorial on this here on the bottom of this webpage:

and for those wondering about syncing clips where you have no timecode jamsync, this video tutorial shows you how to use plural eyes, which can save you lots of time:

gotta say though....AVID is what it is for a reason. they do it very well.

I never synched sound with timecode, I usually do it manually, which is a great way to get into the footage as well.

FCP has a very easy way of synching slate sound with footage.

You basically set the shot in point, then the sound in point, then in the bins you select both shot and track and left click, "merge" them and it creates a new synched shot.

I synched over a 100 shots of dailies in an hour this weekend...

I tried this and it works fine. The problem for me is that I have a whole bunch of clips and audio files. And even more problematic is that I dont know which audio should be matched with which clip :(

Is there any cheaper alternative to Sync-n-link or some more info on how to use this function in redcine-x?
