Hello all!

I'm employed at a production company and have been ask to organize our +80TB video library. We've been running for over five years on the RED cameras, and over the years our shot library has grown extensively.

I'm in search of an industry standard video library solution. Do any of you guys know what that might be?
We used to make heaps of sequences in our editing program, but we need more tag and search options.

Thanks for any help on this matter.

Best,
Anton

I'd be interested in this too... I did a quick search a while back and didn't find any commercial solutions for Image/Video archival tools. I've not had time to put that much effort into it - though I did talk to academics RPI and RIT (two universities closely tied to Kodak) as well as Cornell. There is some work in this area (academic) but again... nobody came back with "Oh... you just need to buy xxx and it'll solve ALL your problems".

There WAS something on the open source front: http://mediatum.sourceforge.net/ but I have not had time to evaluate it.

Doing another search turned up this (also open source): http://www.openarchive.net/sites/default/files/file/0309-OA-QG-E-350.pdf

Not sure if you're equipped to take on an open source solution... but openarchive looks interesting - tiered storage capable, policy driven data migration, looks pretty full featured on the storage side... not sure about the search part of the equation.
