I've been having this issue a lot.

I've shot a short film a few months ago and I had all the raw files stored on my computer. All worked fine.
Looking back at them now, half of them dont work. I open up RCX and its just blank. Doesnt load, nothing.
Other files load, but only like a second of the clip and it ends as if I only shot one second of it.

What is going on?!?!?

Good I didnt need these files as it was just for personal use, or I would have been screwed.

Did you try opening the archived backups? Do the look the same? I mean, you DO have archived backups, right?

Remove the RMD look files, then open the R3D files with the new RedcineX.

The newer RedcineX doesn't handle old RMD files very well

I had a similar problem when the RAID enclosure I was using as a media drive failed and for some reason neither the OS or the enclosure gave any warnings or errors, some media files just stopped working.

So if removing the RMDs doesn't work, try opening your backups (and if those work, make new backups ASAP).
