Has anyone here had problems with Innerspace cases not fulfilling their orders lately, or shipping them a camera case where your camera doesn't fit at all, because the hole was way too big, and then the president of the company email you and tell you that it's kind of your fault that they didn't get the specs right? Wheeeew, that was a mouthful, no but seriously that just happened to me. They have been trying to make me a custom EPIC case for me since August 4th, 2012.

They sent me one case before Thanksgiving where the camera hole was cut out all the way to the bottom, on a hard case, and the hole was for some sort of giant EPIC, like a jumbo version, lol. So I returned it and asked them for a new one promptly. That was before Thanksgiving. I still don't have my case today, so I emailed my sales rep (Nicoletta) and asked for a full refund because I am going to buy one elsewhere.

The president Louis Kaye (some relation to my sales rep I assume because they share the same last name), emailed me back with a thinly veiled apology coated with terms like "if you hadn't of" and "we make hundreds of these a day" and "If we would have known what you really wanted". Leading me to believe that this wasn't an apology at all.

At any rate, He said they would refund me, so I hope they actually do. I should get some sort of interest out of the deal since it's been something like 6 months.

Has anyone else had any problems like this?

It's funny because they told me that if the camera didn't fit, then it's my fault because they make so many, and no one else has problems, lol. Even after I sent them these pictures they tried to tell me that It was my fault.

Thats one way to make your Epic look even smaller!

A "custom" case, by definition requires a detailed diagram with exact measurements of shape, length, width and depth of cuts. If they did not make the cases to your specs, I would be upset, too. Innerspace cases are okay...I'd say good for the price. I would be upset by the time frame, too, though. A & J cases are not cheap, but I've had many different brands, including Innerspace, Calzone, and A & J...and the A & J are in my opinion the best quality. Although I have an Innerspace lens case, and the lenses have traveled much and are well preserved, I was disappointed that they don't offer the very most shock resistant ester foam available. A & J does, but they're about 30%-60% more in cost...and worth it in my opinion.

If you got the little (Oakley-style) RED Epic case with the camera - you could send them the foam insert as a blank to follow...although you'd still need to define the space for your side handle.

Yeah I'm bummed that I didn't get my case. I really wanted it. They told me that they make tons of EPIC cases, so it shouldn't be a problem....... That was 6 months ago.

I'm kinda shocked that after seeing those pictures that they wanted to battle you at all.
The right thing would be to cover your shipping costs & fix it ASAP . . no questions asked.

Try Master Cases (www.mastercases.com) in the future, Charlie does great work & is cheaper than Innerspace & A&J.
He handles big accounts like Panavision & Bexel so he is more than qualified.
They round the lip & corners of the top layer which gives the foam a real nice look.

I personally dealt with the owner when I went to their shop to get some Custom cases, made, which were perfect, I design them and they deliver, one of them was sold to Will on a 300mm, perfect fit, compact and flawless, same thing with all other Lens cases.

This is really very bad that it has happened in the first place, and that they are falling to acknowledge, an error, and not even a small one, especially if they say that they make them for many other Epic owners... Just WOW.

Jon are you thinking the 1515 Pelican velcro pads? I am trying to decide between that and pick and pluck (that came in my 1510 Pelican). I already destroyed my Red box as per the DIY guide but was worried the velcro pads might not support the batteries/charger/etc well. I am still debating whether to use pick and pluck or the pads, please chime in on what works for you/if anyone else cares to share. Thanks

Brian, I'll probably end up going with 2 cases. One for EPIC brain and electronic stuff, the other for cords and batteries. But yeah the 1510 with the 1515 velcro pads is probably what I'm going to go with.

LOL, Yeah that camera hole was enormous! I was flabbergasted!

another wonderfully positive and constructive contribution to REDUSER by Jon MR POSITIVE Jones... but I think you are mistaking REDUSER for FLAMEUSER... try some GREEN - take a yoga class or something... life is short man... Innerspace has always gone above and beyond... give them a chance people, they are an excellent company with a sterling rep.

That case was really well done. You have a talent for designing lens cases Ketch and the 300mm inside was as good as a 300mm RPP can get. Makes me want to own another set of RPPs.

Good to see your not selling your Epic along with the Ultra Primes. We have our Epic setup in one 1610 Pelican Case. The extra depth over the 1510 goes a long way. If you want some pictures of our setup, feel free to e-mail.
