Problems With Graiding . Need Assistance with Calibration for Broadcast

IO Bourd : BlackMagic Multy Brige Pro
HD Monitor : Sony LMD2450W
Preview Monitor 1 : Apple 23'
Preview Monitor 2 : Iezo EIZO CE240W
PAL Previe : Standard TV
Files : Red One footage converted to DPX 10Bit : LOG


Question that i have
1. I have ColorVision Datacolor calibrator - did i need
to calibrate both my preview monitor.
2. Can i Calibrate Sony Monitor , if not in what positions must be
Contrast and Brightest in monitor settings. (because somebody change
it )
3. What you thing about Multy Brige ? is it good inafe to send HD
signal ?
4. Did i need to trust PAL signal from My MBP to TV , or i did not
need it .
5. When i am working in Color with 10 bit DPX files did i need to
change preview on Video (65 Black – 940 White : Linear) , if i need
to do it for broadcasting .
6. And lust question is . Picture on my HD monitor , will it be same
for broadcast in PAL , or i need to calibrate it with my local
broadcasters ?

Hey Biba,
Calibrating Sony monitors -
1 Switch camera to bars output
2 Using brightness control adjust the extreme right-hand dark bar to match the density of the surrounding unused screen area
3 Switch the monitor to Blue Only
4 Using Chroma control adjust the extreme left-hand dark bar (second bar in from left-hand side)until the density of the bar exactly matches the surrounding screen display
5 Using the Contrast Control adjust the extreme left-hand bar (white)to a perfect white
6 Switch off Blue Only control
7 Switch camera back to picture and your monitor is perfectly calibrated

Yes Thanks , this answer help me with it . But i need to calibrate it not with camera , i need to do it with Black Magic Multy Brige Pro. Any idea for it.

Generate bars from FCP, send it to Color.

If the bars won't calibrate or they are way off, something is wrong with your signal path. (Final Touch used to do this... believe it or not.)

All replyes are welcome but calibrating a monitor to show an exact profile as rec. 709 (HD) or rec. 601 (SD) is quite more complicated then your description. Try and consult Cinespace or other colormanegemant software makers. You can find some usefull infornation in thier forums.
