Hello, I got a problem with a dammed 4K clip.
Im exported a XMl from FCP 7.01 and then with clipfinder to conform to R3D, when Im import the XML file on After effects CS4 works correctly with color correction and other stuff........32bits per color, maximun settings on debayer options.........and then I export in Proress 4444 in 4K resolution.
The clip rendered on CS4 are too huge, 15 seconds= 1,5 GB ( It´s normal, 4K, 32Bpc  ) and the QT have a problem to reproduction with dropped frames.

Its not enough a mac pro octocore with raid0 and 16GB ram ?

Thanks a lot.

Hard to understand what your asking but I think you should probably look into a RedRocket if attempting to work with 4k files.

Thanks Jay Gannon, sorry I don´t speak English :violin:.
Redrocket is a hardware acceleration card to work with native files. My 4K clip is on Proress 444 codec..........Any suggestions about dropped frames ? its my macpro to weak to do that ?

Thanks :)

Not criticizing you at all just wanting to make sure I gave the right advice.
Nope not powerful enough, offline and conform is really the only way to edit without a dedicated hardware system

Thanks Jay Gannon. I will try to reduce to 2K to work properly

:)
