Hi.
I already posted this in a different thread and don´t know how to move it, so here´s another try to get any help.
I own an Epic-W in combination with a woodencamera cable less V-Mount plate and having issues using some batteries.
If I use my old bebeob V-Mount batteries(V140), everything is as it should be, the voltage gets´s displayed in the camera and if I shut down the camera it shuts down as it should.
I ordered some new Bebob V-Mounts 2 weeks ago (V150 and V98) and if I use them on the plate I get no Voltage displayed in the camera, it just says 0% or mostly "unknwn". If I shut down the camera the fans start going at a very high level, the display freezes with "shutting down" still displayed and the camera hangs. I can just turn it off by removing the battery from the battery plate.
The same happened as I did some tests last week with Beillen batteries. Sometimes with the Beillen the camera does not even start (nothing happens when pressing the power button on my epic). When the camera starts with those the same problem appears (no voltage, camera hangs on shutdown).
When I use a Bebob hotswap plate between the WC plate and the battery everything is good, voltage gets displayed.
When I use an old WC Battery plate from my Epic dragon (with cable) everything is good, voltage gets displayed, the camera shuts down as it should.
When I use Swit Red batteries directly on the WC cableless plate, everything is good, also remaining battery time gets communicated. Also my cheap china V-Mounts that I use for my LED´s work directly on the plate without issues.
So the problem is happenning when I use specific batteries. The thought from my dealer is that the camera might be the problem.
I really need some halp on this as I have important jobs in the next week that I can´t stand with my old 2 Bebob V140 that work on the camera for now.
I´m already in contact with bebeob on this and they try to repeoduce the issue but I don´t have any answer yet.
Maybe somebody had something similar or has the same setup that works or causes problems.
I would appreciate any help and thoughts as time is ticking and I need to decide if I keep my new bebob batteries or if I need to switch them because they are useless for me right now.
Thanks in advance.

So just as an update:
Bebob was really interested in finding a solution for this issue and did tests.
They found out that their new/up to date batteries use a different pin for communication with the camera, that´s what causes the problems in combination with the Woodencamera/IDX Plate in combination with Epic-W at the moment.
According to Bebob, they are changing this right now, in about 2-3 Month their batteries will work fine with Epic-W/Woodencamera cable-less backplate.
You will have remaining running time displayed, not just the voltage.
They were really helpful and quick to point out the problem and helping me out on a production.

I am also having the same poblem with global media pro and dynacore batteries using woodencamera cableless blueshape battery plate.

In addition to the problems in the first post thşs situation causes foolcontrol to drop connection. And camera to act strangely even slowing down the interface. When i connect any battery with a dtap to lemo power cable every problem goes away.

I'm having the same problem with Hypercore HC8s. Could you forward this info to Wooden Camera too?

Hi. Yes, I´ll let them know.
They addressed an issue for example with Beillen Batteries to power consumption, this might happen to other batteries as well:

"With regard to the Beillen batteries. Our calculation show a maximum draw of under 6amps on those batteries. This is not ideal for cinema work. Most cinema batteries have a max of 10amps and have 6amps at a minimum. Your camera alone is pulling 4amps, so you will quickly run into issues if powering other accessories as well.
The Cable-less products we offer have all been designed for use with any cinema batteries using industry standard communication types and have been tested on real cameras prior to shipment. "

Hey Gavin,
already got an answer, the Hypercores should work. The other´s mentioned by Hurcan might lead to the power consumption.

WC:"Any battery that cannot support 5amps will not work with the camera. That is not a limitation from our battery plate but one from the low end batteries. We also had the Hypercore HC8 sent in from Switronix and confirmed that it works properly. If customers are having issues with that battery, they should reach out to Switronix."

It seems that some batteries are using non standard data communication, those are the ones making problems.
As I wait for Bebob to change this and changing out my batteries I will not try what the wc guys told me today, maybe you give it a try.
I would let the battery manufacturer know about that, they might change that as well as they want to sell their batteries.

WC: "If some of the batteries do in fact have a high enough mac draw then that would surely mean they are sending a non-standard type of data which is causing problems. The best workaround for this is to remove the leads from the wiring harness on the back of the battery plate and cover each of them with electrical tape to prevent unwanted contact. You will have no battery data, but this will allow you to use these batteries."
