Hi all,

I urgently need some help for some test footage we shot last week

My DOP took the shots into the grade

Basically on one of the R3D files we applied an s curve and it has carried over into the Nucoda film master and can't be switched off.

In CineX It can be toggled on and off but in Nucoda the R3D file seems to have the look stuck on it (burned in)

Why is this and how can I fix it???

I'm still fairly new to RED and this could be a major issue as my DOP is concerned about his raw files.

All help greatly appreciated

In the look manager select 'meta' and apply it to the clip.

If that doesn't work manually delete the .rmd file that's in the folder with that specific clip.

Thanks Ben I'm going in today so will try that. I'm not sure it transcoded as with an RMD

The look was made on redline x and applied in the camera

Ahh okay so you're just going to have to reset all the adjustments in redcine-X and re-transcode that clip.

Thanks Ben but what about the look?

We want that to go with the clip but for post to be able to toggle on ands off in Nucoda

If you are not grading the native R3D files then whatever look you choose when you do the transcode will be baked into that file.

If you CAN grade from the R3Ds then save that look as a preset in the look manager so you can toggle it on or off.

If you CAN'T grade from the R3Ds then either you need to transcode twice - once an ungraded version and then a graded version to go between them and select one, or you need to have a .tiff snapshot of the clip with the look applied to use as a reference for the colourist to work from.
