Dear Sir,
Dear Colleagues

I'm Stefano Spiti RED#5571
italian cinematographer,

I have one problem when I shoot with my RED in Hand Mode
(camera resting on my shoulder)

RED one with RED DRIVE , RED base production pack, Zacuto Zgrips Beefy #Z-LSHK-B, Element techinica Aluminum Battery Interface with SpeedyClamp - 19mm, Element technica Single Drive Mount Kit - 19mm.

or
only
RED one with Compact Flash

After few steps the RED One camera turn off automatically.

I am speaking of quick steps and then with small bounce, or start of quick runs,
quick movements of my body to follow the actions of actors

the RED One camera turn off automatically
,
What I wrong in the setting camera?

many thanks

I have a new italian movie to shoot in September (60% hand camera)

My ghetto fix is to use a clothes peg around the release lever. If you pick the right size, it prevents ANY movement in that release lever and there is NO way for the battery to loosen, or pop off, short of catastophic impact!

And it comes off and on much quicker than loads of gaffer!

If you are doing a lot of handheld I would also recommend the battery belt pack. This not only helps the connection, as it isn't being jarred with the camera, but it takes quite a bit of weight off your shoulder at the same time.

I had restart issues as well that all went away when I got the belt pack.

Dear Colleagues,

I thought that the RED One will switch off automatically because of its automatic protection when the stresses of a fast walk or a run were too strong

sorry but I was convinced of this

after your suggestions

I went looking for the real problem
and I discovered that the gold contact of the battery plate had a small defect in the pole -
a little gold tongue was flattened and don't had a perfect contact with the battery.
just a vibration, and the camera turns off.

many thanks at
Shane, XiaoSu, Eric and Jim
