  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

So I've been shooting some test footage with a few lenses and some of my old Canon gear when I noticed in several clips that I'm getting this severe sensor artifacting that 'blips' every few seconds in some of the footage I've shot. It's almost similar to a dropout (Wait, we're shooting digital and not tape here... right?).

I don't know what to make of it, and it's definitely not an issue with the new 3.3.3 build, I've had similar artifacting in prior builds (After black shading and before).

Here's a link to the r3d file.

Any help would be great.

Try a blackshade..may help. You can also try to reinstall the release firmware.

I've black shaded again and again, on numerous different builds and the problem still persists, though the example above is the most extreme I've seen it.

Also, the artifacting happens every 4-5 seconds in that clip of the dog... the single frame r3d provided is the worst of the bunch.

Reverted to release build, came back to 3.3.3, did a black shade and the problem seems to be cured. I'll update this if I see any artifacts occur during my tests.
