Hi all,

I just finish to edit a red feature with 4.5Kws redcode 42, 2K 120fps redcode 36 footages and 5d footage in my timeline.
I want to grade it in Color with the full ability to use the Red tag but i can't.

I export my final sequence into a xml> open in clipfinder>Run conform on FCP XML> Go back to fcp> Open in Color but Color won't show the clip and give me this warning.

What i can do? Have you a clue for me, please?
(I understand color can't work with files resolution more than 2K but how to do "resize" it?)

thanks a lot

Color can't handle 4.5K. Pretty much your only option is to use RedCineX/ClipFinder/etc to transcoder and resize the files.

I want a 1920x1080 output si i can go with this export setting? The "none raw codec" will preserve the "red tab" in color ?
thanks!

No, it won't preserve the RED tab. You'll have to do all of your 'developing' (ISO, WB, etc) in Clipfinder or RC-X, then drop the transcoded (To DPX, TIFF or ProRes4, for preference) files into Color for grading.

Ben,

Try this. It's a way of tricking Color.

Open the exported XML in FCP and point to the H proxy instead of the F proxy.

Then send to Color and you can access the r3d. (the proxy has no effect once you are accessing the R3D).

I can use 4.5WS media when I send it to color this way.
