Problem with 48fps footage in Premiere ("record frame rate"/"frame rate" disparity)

Hi there,

I am working with R3D files shot at 48fps and trying to work with these at the correct frame rate in Premiere CC. According to the metadata on RED Player the "record frame rate" is 48fps but the "frame rate" is 23.97. Premiere is reading the files as 23.97. I am unsure of the exact difference between record frame rate and frame rate and am worried that the footage was not recorded properly at 48fps as intended.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Alternatively if you want the 48fps to play at realtime speed (not slow motion) like The Hobbit, then your timeline needs to be at 48fps.

The "record frame rate" is the rate the camera is recording in, the "frame rate" also known as the "project timebase" is the speed you want the footage to playback. If you want the 48fps to playback in realtime by default instead, you have to set Project Timebase to match your Record Frame Rate in the camera settings.
