I need 47 minutes to trans code a 4000 fps clip. I tried with red cine -x 326 and 339.

Footage:
4k, 25fps, 2:1, 2.40:1, RC42

Trans code options:
Apple Pro Res 1920X1080 25 fps.
Debayer settings 1/2 good.
I am using 2 internal sata 2 drives.

My mac:
Mac pro quad core intel xeon Dual 2.66GHz, 6gb ram.
Is there anyone who had this problem before?
Please help me.

That works out to about .7 seconds per frame. Doesn't seem too out of line.

You have probably heard this but Red rocket would make this kind of transcoding easy as
p2 log and transfer. Really a smart investment

Someone told me that if i transcode to 1920X960, because they shot 2:1 the time that redcine-x needs (47 minutes for 4.000 fps on 25 fps) will decrease dramatically.
I haven't test it yet because i am not in front of my mac.
I don't know if it make sense to any of you.

dimitris:

find someone that has a red rocket and use it to transcode, it will save you a tremendous amount of time. if you can not do that, then shoot 4khd and the it will make transcoding a little more palatable. also you are using a computer that is a couple of generations behind. if you plan on continuing to process and cut with red footage, you really need to upgrade both your cpu and purchase a red rocket, if not be prepared to wait...
