Hi,

I have tried to connect my RedONE to a MacBook Pro via the USB 2 type B port yet the Mac refuses to recognise it. Should I have installed any software prior to connection, or is there any other particular precedure I have missed? (all I did was connect the cable).

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben.

Why are you trying to connect the RED directly to your mac?

Getting data off by connecting the RED Raid Drive of CF cards via a Reader. I have never tried to connect the RED ONE directly into my mac! I am not sure whether this option currently exist.

I assumed that the camera would connect to the Mac to download firmware updates and allow transfer of files to & from the CF card. Is this the case? The manual doesn't seem to say.

Not the case. Transfer firmware directly to CF card with a CF reader and then load the firmware from there. You can however, use the USB port to charge your iphone.

Cheers guys, just bought the cam so a novice I'm afraid! Thanks again,

Ben.

And a little USB light with gooseneck can be quite helpful at times…

A lot actually. Your focus puller will need this in low/no light environment. Either to see the lens or work on the camera. I totally recommend this cheap accessory.

Definitely! Mine was 2,50 – the cheapest accesory on our Red ;-)
