Hi all. . .

I converted my cameras to Build 16 and went out and shot some establishing shots for my movie. I was perodically playing clips back in the field and all seemed quite well. . . UNTIL I GOT HOME AND TRIED TO DOWNLOAD THE DATA! All I see, on every proxy clip, is a BLANK GREEN SCREEN OF DEATH! NOTHING.

I think that maybe something is just up with the proxies. I open REDAlert. Now I get a BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH.

However, the data IS there, because when I put the card back into the camera, it allows me to play the clips just fine.

What on earth is this all about? And, more importantly, how do I get the data off the cards and get useable proxies from them?

Update your RED QT component and restart. Should fix it.

Make sure you have the latest Codec.

Make sure you have the latest Codec.

Should fix the problem

Jeff. . . Bobby. . .

Sorry, but I have no idea what either of you are talking about. Can you give me some specific procedures?

I'm sure I'm on the latest Build 16, as I just updated my cameras from 15 to 16.

Most importantly, what can I do to get the data on the cards off into useable proxies?

Thanks.

Stephen

you need to update the QT software on your Mac, go to red.com/support and download all the newest tools and you will be fine.

Well, whaddaya know? It worked!

That's really strange. This is the first time I've ever had to download a QT component off the RED site. In Build 15, the QT I had just worked natively.

Too cool.

All is well. . .

Thanks for the help!

Stephen

Having the same problem on a brand new system. Installed current Redcine, RedAlert, Log and Transfer Plugin and QT app from the red.com/support page. I can open .R3Ds with RedAlert/Cine just fine but all proxies are solid green. Anything else I should do to flush out QuickTime?
