Hi

I have a Red Pro 5" LCD but I don't have the cable for the moment (my colleague forgot to pack it down). Last time I used my Epic I had set it up to output on the HD-SDI. So... I connect a LCD monitor through HDMI but I can't get an image. I have the Redmote so I can see that everything is up and running properly, but I don't get a signal to the monitor through the HDMI. The manual says:

"The default VIEWFINDER output is the EVF / LCD connector located on the front face of the Side SSD Module. If neither of these is connected, VIEWFINDER output will be automatically transferred to the HDMI output, or it may be selected by the operator to appear on the HD-SDI output of the camera Brain."

So, I don't have EVF / LCD connected so it should automatically transfer to HDMI. But since last time I used the camere I put the output to HD-SDI. Does that mean that the camera now remembers the setting and I can in no way get access to the menus - and get an image - without either an HD-SDI monitor or the Red Pro LCD?

Thanks for any assistance
Sami

Thanks for the quick reply. I've updated both my remote and the camera now to latest firmware, and still no signal on HDMI, which I find extremely strange. I have used the HDMI port previously with no issues with the specific monitor I am trying to get an image to right now. Even tested with another monitor and exchanged the HDMI cables, and still no signal. Extremely frustrating. I guess I'll have to fix the Red Pro monitor cable to fix this issue.

Well, after a drive into town I got to borrow a cable; now home it looks like, even though I did the firmware update it still remembered somehow that the output was HD-SDI. I don't get it how, but it did.

The thread I mentioned had a special custom flash that would come up with HDMI selected. Just re-flashing again won't fix it, you need the special one from RED tech support.

There I get for being a sloppy reader. Thanks for letting me know.
