  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

probably a stupid question... but i'm asking it anyway... physical shutter?

Does the red camera have a physical shutter? or is it emulated?

if its emulated it possible to shoot shutter speeds that stay "open" longer than the duration of each frame?

ex: 24fps, can I have a shutter speed of 1/10 giving me long motion blurs? obviously this is impossible with film since the light can only hit the film as long as its in that position.

thanks for clearing this up for me! I would love to be able to shoot a sequence with LONG motion trails in 24 fps all in camera

It's referred to as an electronic shutter. The photosites must be reset to start capturing a new frame, that's why you can't overlap frames, you wouldn't be able to separate when the light hit the sensor when it came time to read it.

okay cool, well thanks for the quick response! it was wishful thinking on my part
