ALL SOLD!
Hello guys. Some of you might know me from my posts around this forums; mainly on my passion for inspecting and finding top copies of Contax lenses. After a lot of consideration, I have decided to split my set and while keeping the "Small" Contaxes for when I want that look, also invest into a parallel Zeiss "Classic" line which fits my shooting needs better. This means I will be selling some of my Contax lenses: currently the 35/1.4MMJ, 85/1.4MMJ, 100/2MMJ and 100/2.8 Macro AEJ. My 21/2.8MMJ and 28/2 MMG and 28/2 AEJ will also be on sale after they come back from servicing but I will post about them separately in the future.
If you are looking to buy a Contax on the budget and save here and there, this is not a sale for you. This is for the people that are dead serious about building a truly mint set ready to film without worrying about the performance of their lenses and they don't want to waste their time searching and importing lenses that might or might not be alright. These are my primary lenses, not secondary copies. All these 4 lenses are the top of the top in terms of condition and took quite a few of buys, returns and sells to get here. I have spent the past two years and went through so many lenses advertised as "Mint" only to end up with haze, balsam separation or some other major problem. Eventually I have assembled a set made out of lens that not only look great but they are truly clean and work as advertised.
The lenses optics have no scratches. The bodies are almost like new. Helicoids are smooth. There is some usual dust inside the lenses normal for the age of the lenses. In general, in Japanese eBay sellers terms these lenses would be either "TOP MINT" or "UNUSED". Only in this case, you really know you are getting the right thing, the first time.
Clicked or Decklicked it's up to you, just let me know. All lenses come with permanent Leitax EF mount, 77mm front ring, Canon back and front cap with my own designed Contax Zeiss sticker. All lenses except from the 100/2 come with a high quality Follow Focus gear from followfocusgears. All lenses are unaltered in terms of pins. If you rather use these lens for photography, I can revert them to their original state with the original Contax caps and original Contax mount if you like.
The prices are as follow:
35/1.4 MMJ - $1500 SOLD
85/1.4 MMJ - $850 SOLD
100/2 MMJ - $1100 $995 $895 SOLD
100/2.8 Macro AEJ (73xxxxx "MM" serial) - $750 $695 SOLD
The above above lenses have the following already installed (with common rates):
- Leitax mounts ($70) + ($50~$90 installation)
- Decklicked and dampened ($30~$50)
- Follow Focus Gear from followfocusgears.com ($35) (*except the 100/2)
- Step Up Rings to 77mm with 77mm caps with custom sticker ($10)
- EF Back Cap ($5)
Putting it all together and including shipping for items/lens, these have the value of $200~$300 depending on where you have them do it. Even if you do it yourself, it will still cost $150+. So adding those costs, you will find that these lenses are sold in the usual eBay prices for Mint lenses although these are guaranteed top lenses thoroughly and OCD-levels checked under hard light by a Contax maniac
Prices also include shipping with express EMS service to your country (usually 2~5 days). Buyer is responsible for any import fees and any additional transaction costs - Paypal is okay, USD/EUR/GBP bank accounts also available and preferred.
