I'm looking to put a fabric image of a night time scene outside a 3m x 2m window that opens onto a ground floor patio. Does anyone have experience with fake backdrops and how to light them? Should I look at a back lit solution and fire my Joker 1600 at it perhaps or front light it gently with 150w dedo's?

I also want a daylight scene of the same image (cityscape) so again what's the best solution?

Excited about trying it and sharing my experience here.

Patrick Cady, ASC and gaffer Derrick Kolus detail the fixtures they use to light a day/night TransLite backing in order to create various time-of-day effects.

It's a three part series.
