  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Pricing mistake...

The LCD (just like the EVF) does come with an integrated digital signal, power and control interface cable, just not the 3 ft or 10 ft length cables which are options. You do not have to pay extra to use the LCD (or the EVF) with the camera.

and if i need to go further with another external monitor, how does it work?

thx

I've just noticed that the Red Arm is no longer included in the LCD package, as well - so the price of the full LCD system has just jumped by, what, $475??

I can't say I'm overly chuffed to see that...

I know someone complained about it coming with the arm when the EVF already had one (since they planned to get both? and use them at different times?) but it looks like Jannard took it to heart without changing the price, which does help explain the pricing error with the batteries...

Hmmm... Well...

IMHO, if you get both you're most likely going to want to mount both - the most likely setup would be EVF for operator, LCD for AC - so I'm not so sure about that logic, although I see what you're saying.

Still not very happy about that, but there you go...

I too plan to buy both and need arms for both ... also if i rent out the LCD or EFV ( one not both) to another RED user i'll need to have a Arm for my Red ...

One thing to keep in mind...

The Japanese Army- 180,000
Sony employees- 160,000
RED full time employees- 14

We are doing the best we can... :-)

Jim

Yes but you also had more than 1500 (?) people who helped with a roundtable like discussion of development ideas I assume have been incorporated in to the camera and who have also spread the word which i also assume kept the process fun, viable, and more known throughout the world. All for an allowance that is considerably cheaper than the more mainstream route companies like Sony would have paid.

The only differences being:

RedOne deveopment process: Open-Interactive-Forum
Sony development process: Top-Secret-Espionage-Proof-System
