Hi everybody,
i think about buying a Red Scarlet in the future. What do i have to pay all in all? Scarletbrain, a cheap lens, viewfinder, Editing-Software/Hardware and so an? What do i need for the start and what do i have to pay for all together?(Please the cheapest opinions);)

I´m RED-nacked...

Hope you can help me...

Repeat after me:

We won't know until October 30.

Only thing we do know is editing system - a lot of people are using Mac Pros and MacBook Pros, but anything with more than two cores with four GB of ram should be enough... Final Cut and Premiere Pro both can handle RED footage natively.

Wow! :yikes: Another thread asking the same questions that we all don't know the answer to. How many more will we get leading up to October 30th. I say 6 more. :yesnod:

:attention9ha:

According to this video (halfway down the page) the fixed will be around $4000 with a 3k sensor. Is this an old clip, I haven't seen this discussed before.

The nice thing is that he actually has the camera, had no idea it was following the DSLR form. Probably the most informative piece of media I have seen so far or has this changed now too? Fall 09 release?

What camera? There is no Scarlet camera yet. What he has is a mock-up. Hopefully October 30 we will have a clearer idea. In the meantime go thru the threads here. There is plenty of info on what we know up to now, which in reality is not much.

The camera system is completely modular. You can pretty much rig it up any way you want from DSLR form to balanced over the shoulder video camera form. Its up to you. Final prices are supposed to be announced on the 30th, until then noone really knows, but they shouldn't be too far off the earlier estimates.

Not everyone has been on this forum and knows that the announcement is coming on the 30th, so let's just relax a little... Not everyone is as up to speed as you all are :)

We are supposed to get all new details, a release schedule, new pricing, and who knows what else on October the 30th.

Jim & RED will announce a bunch of new info on the 30th. So, stay tuned..

We should hopefully all have a much better idea of what things will cost and such on the 30th. Until then, all previous pricing has been removed, so no one (but RED) knows how much anything is going to cost right now.

And, welcome to the forum.

EDITED TO ADD: JonesJones... Please read teh rules on the registration page next time :) We are real names only here. Going to need to pm me with your real name in a format that matches one of the acceptable username formats using your real name. thanks.
