  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

preview - Sanctuary

So... I am totally unpropotionally happy to announce that Sanctuary is part of the official program at the Norwegian Shortfilm festival in Grimstad!

I am kinda on a budget time- and moneywise these days. So I cannot send it "everywhere". AND I never expected it to be selected to anything in Norway, to the extent that I booked a trip to China during the festival.

But we are selected, and Tuva will have to represent us.

The Norwegian Shortfilm Festival in Grimstad is one of the most renown in Europe. It also nominates to the European Acadamy (maybe a good thing?). Congratulations with the award!

Odemax would be possible, I was considering a 4k finnish if it was selected for the Shot on RED festival, but it was not selected for that run, so for now I did a 2k finnish.

I know that is against the grain of this place, but I do not really see the big win for a 4k finnish for this particular film. It is shot on a rather roughed up set of Standard Speeds with little light on a RED1 M.
I love the images, but the difference between a 2k and 4k finnish would be discussable at best.

I do have a couple of other films in the pipe, shot on masters, which are shot in a way that would make a 4k finnish make sense, though.

But of course, if it was to go Odemax, I would have to re-master it.
 
I have taken the liberty of translating the Jurys comments.

All faults are mine:

The directors behind (Sanctuary) displays a freedom in research of visual concepts and ways to tell the story. This is possibly the film that the jury ended up discussing the most, and we perceive the way (the directors create) a filmic room which triggers new thoughts and different interpretations as both liberatingly and craftfully done.

This is a dark and playful movie which discusses chaos, order, primal forces, civilization and use of force.


If you know of some festivals or people I should send it to, please do not hesitate!

Firstly congrats on the success of this piece, I feel it is well deserved!

I sat in silence for about 5 min after watching, just thinking about it.
It was cool to see your images moving, as I have only seen stills of your work before, this really didn't disappoint. Well done.
