Hi, I am prepping for a crane car shoot for Tuesday to Thursday and we are shooting with a RED and a Panasonic HDX-900. We have picked up a Preston FiZ for me to pull with which is fine, used them before, their awesome. My question stems from the fact that my motors all fit the RED great but don't fit on the ENG lenses for the HDX. Thus my problem. I feel like the solution would be to get another set of lens motors that are geared for digital lenses but I'm not sure which ones I would need. Help!!!

you just need to get the right gears that attach to the motors. Cine lenses are usually 0.8 pitch, fuji has a 0.6 pitch I believe and canon is 0.7 maybe? anyway, any rental house that has this
setup should have the gears.

That's kinda what I figured but it seemed like the gears are pretty tricky to get out or am I just over complicating it?

Hi,

If your motors are prestons (DM1 or DM2) , they don't pop off, you have to screw the other gears over the one already there (0.8). Preston kit should have the other gears (canon, fuji or any other pitch) supplied with 3 small screws.
You just screw the gear in place right over the existing one already in place.

Cheers.
