Preston FIZ Marking RIng

Hi.
I have an odd question. I'm making a front box with a section for holding Preston marking rings. I need to know the width of a Preston HU3 Marking Ring (the pre marked ones) so I know how wide to cut the slot.

Does anybody in the world have one they wouldnt mind measuring for me. I would greatly appreciate it.

Quick question, why would an AC want the rings in the front box? Usually each ring is kept conveniently with each lens so the AC doesn't have to search though them. 8 or 9 rings in the front box seems like they will take up a lot of space....sounds interesting, just wondering.

As an AC Id agree with Eric. Each ring goes on top of each lens so you grab the lens with the ring. No hunting. Feel free to make whatever you want, it's just sorta non traditional.

rings are 85mm x 22mm
The HU3 uses lens mapping so there are only 5 rings. Most of the time my AC's are on the C ring. D or E ring for long lenses and a A or B for macro shots.

Thanks for the dimensions, it has saved me from cutting the slots twice. In reply to the questions, i'm making an all in one box. It can sit on a magliner, or locked onto an o'connor as a front box. Yes, I wont be using it as a ring holder when it's on a camera but moreso when it is on a lens magliner or general magliner.
