Prerecord droping frames

Hi, I´m filming a wildlife doc, so prerecord was a key factor to decide buying a REDone. But, almost 50% of the takes whith prerecord enabled are full of dropped frames (plain grey screen), all the 10 or 30 seconds of buffer are lost, only the frames after the buffer seem to be ok.
This occurs when I enable the prerecord (undo-rec buttons), a little box that indicates drops goes mad and drops begin to add up.
Any clues for using prerecord and preventing this?

RedOne, 16G REd flash cards, 4K and 2K 75fps, buid 20.1.16.
Time base 25, max quality, RED36.

thanks

Try dropping the quality setting from RC36 to 28 or shoot to a drive instead of CF card. With the drives you should do fine pre-rolling 4K RC36.

I've experienced that myself using prerec mode...

not to that extent, though... build 16, it was. It didn't happen again. Knocking on wood...

Thanks Sean, the prerecord works fine in rc28, although this is a quality compromise, we will take it, until we have our RedDrive delivered.
I apreciate the quick and accurate response very much.

Update: drops still appear during prerecord (now in RedCode 28) but now in just about 5% of the clips.
