.. people at Red for implementing prerecord mode and even a totally unexpected sleep mode in the most recent epic build. I had been craving for that. Until then, the camera was lacking a critical feature for efp/eng/wildlife. Quite a different story now, and Epic is a definite must.

Using big telephotos, people like me don't really care about resolution over 5k, and would have to crop into the image to retain enough "magnification". I just hope Red will think of a much more sensitive, reasonably priced 4K sensor, sensitivity being the only real downside left.

One thing : the image in the evf looks much worse to me than it looked on my red one. Too soft, hard to focus. And in many situations, focus assist gets things only worse for me, totally misleading at times.

However, thanks for the achievement....

I thought I had come across very bad feedbacks about the OLED... it has been said to be almost "unusable"... Don't know what to think !

I share your feelings about focus assist. It sharpens the image way too much, and makes things that are slightly out of focus look like they're in focus. I'd love to see that get fine-tuned or be made adjustable. As is, I have to stop down to around f/11 to consistently keep fast-moving bird in focus with a 600mm lens, and I'd love to be able to squeeze an extra stop or two out of that to get more leeway in ISO and exposure time.

f/11, yes, Alan... then you have to rely on DOF... I feel quite uncomfortable with that. Have you tried the OLED ? Any idea about why the image on the old evf looks so soft, almost crappy at times ?

I haven't tried the OLED EVF yet. There are still some more lenses and post hardware I'm going to need on my current project so I can't put it too high on my priorities list right now, sadly. I agree with you about shooting at f/11, though - below f/8 on that lens, you don't get a pleasing separation between subject and background most of the time.

Frankly I'm astonished at a company which has Jarred & Jim running things coming out with *anything* called 'sleep mode' :-)
